The Healthy Me Project
Roberta is the founder and Executive Director of The Healthy Me Project, a non-profit organization that helps teens and adults with developmental disabilities make healthy changes in their lives. Roberta was inspired to create this non-profit after helping Briana, a woman with Down Syndrome, lose over 100 pounds through Pilates, cardio exercise and healthy nutrition. The first program had nine participants, all teens and adults with Down Syndrome. Each participant was matched with a coach, a personal trainer who met with them for weekly training and workouts for three months. By the second session, the program expanded to 3 different health clubs with 22 total athletes called "Healthy Me All-STARS."
