Shari Caffrey is an inspiration to all who know her because she is a survivor. Shari founded Taylor's Wish, an organization created in loving memory of her daughter, Taylor Caffrey, who lost her battle with Pulmonary Hypertension at the age of 4 1/2 in 2009. Every year, Shari Caffrey heads a small committee to put on the Taylor's Wish 5k Race To Cure PH. She brings the community, local business, and Pulmonary Hypertension patients together. She has $60,000.00 for PHA.

In Her Own Words:
My name is Shari Caffrey. I am a stay-at-home mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, and in early 2010 became the Committee Chair for a fundraiser. My husband, Michael and I met, fell in love, married, and became parents to beautiful twin daughters, Brooke and Taylor. It was the happiest time of my life. It was short lived happiness. In September 2009, every parent’s worst nightmare happened to me and Michael. Taylor died. She was 4 yrs. old, died in my arms, in our home, and in front of her twin sister Brooke. We were numb. Michael was angry. I was beside myself with grief. Brooke said we lived in a sad house. We all were suffering. Taylor was diagnosed when she was 3 with Pulmonary Hypertension. It is terminal. It was caught too late. Shortly after Tay died, I knew I had to channel my grief into something positive or it was going to destroy me, my family, and my life. Tay was so strong and brave. I had to be the same. Brooke needed us. So, Taylor’s Wish was born. If Tay was still alive, her wish would be for another family not to have to lose a loved one to PH. All proceeds raised by Taylor’s Wish go to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association’s research programs. We have HOPE and happiness again.
