The GODIVA team worldwide participated in GODIVA Gives Days last week, reaching out to local organizations to lend a helping hand. Katherine Gomez, on the Design team in GODIVA’s New York Office, wrote about her experience volunteering to benefit One Sandwich at a Time:
The "One Sandwich At a Time" volunteering experience was very meaningful. As I put on my Godiva Gives T-Shirt, I remembered how touched I was when I watched the video of Lady GODIVA Program Honorees. Their passion to help others was inspiring. Witnessing their strength and humility in action was motivational – these women are truly remarkable. I was so honored to hear more about One Sandwich At a Time and One Heart for Women and Children from Stephanie and Erin during our GODIVA Gives volunteer event.
Making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the Bowery Mission fostered a sense of connection not only amongst coworkers, but also to our local New York community. Like Stephanie said during the event, "we're a family." It was truly inspiring to hear how both organizations have grown, and how GODIVA was a part of that. Being able to play a role in the work these organizations is doing was so rewarding, and I can’t think of a better way to have started the day than with such wonderful leaders like Stephanie and Erin who inspire others and make a difference in their communities.
